Zea Release: April 2026

We’ve rolled out a series of updates across Zea that improve usability, streamline workflows, and make working with complex 3D data even more seamless.

A Simpler, More Intuitive Parts Experience

We’ve overhauled the Parts user experience to make navigation clearer and more natural. Whether you’re browsing large assemblies or helping customers identify components, the updated interface makes it faster to find exactly what you need.

More Powerful Illustrations

Illustrations continue to evolve into a central tool for communication and documentation:

  • Editors and viewers can now create measurements directly within Illustrations
  • Callouts now support multi-line text, making it easier to provide detailed annotations

These improvements make it easier to create precise, informative technical visuals that go beyond static documentation.

Platform Improvements

We’ve made several foundational updates to improve performance and usability across the platform:

  • Shorter, cleaner URLs: We’ve simplified how links are structured by removing the need for combined organization and workspace IDs
  • Improved ViewCube readability: Labels are now clearer and easier to interpret during navigation
  • Model comparison stability: Fixed an issue that could cause errors when removing models from a comparison

Parts Performance and Reliability

Working with large datasets is now more robust:

  • Importing large parts lists no longer overloads the API
  • Imports now include a time estimate for completion, giving better visibility into progress

Smarter Illustrations and Configurators

  • Adding a group to a BOM now automatically includes all of its members, respecting the active selection filter
  • Configurators now refresh immediately once an illustration project is connected

These updates are all about reducing friction, improving clarity, and helping teams get more value out of their CAD data. As always, we’re continuing to refine the platform based on how manufacturers are actually using Zea in the real world.
